Control of Invasive Plants and Weeds
Welcome to Maintaining Green Infrastructure Stormwater Systems, a training series created by the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society to create a pathway for those interested in pursuing careers in this emerging field. Each of these presentations can be viewed independently or together as a series.
Here's where we get into the finer detail of plantings: distinguishing between the plants that we intentionally planted for their resiliency and water-loving properties and those unwanted "invasive plants" that we need to be on the lookout for. Without regular maintenance, invasives tend to take over -- which can cause the systems to malfunction AND throw the ecological balance out of whack.
