From The Chesapeake Bay Foundation’s Bay Daily: “With Gridlock in D.C., Farm Pollution Control Program to Expire on Sept. 30”
With many of the U.S. House voting sessions cancelled in the lead-up to the November 6th elections, it seems unlikely that the Farm Bill will be passed before then. The Farm Bill contains the Chesapeake Bay Watershed Initiative which has been funding Bay region pollution control projects. Read on…
From DelawareOnline.com: “Estuary still has ‘a way to go’”
The Partnership for the Delaware Estuary recently released an updated State of the Estuary report. “It’s clear from the report and science that the estuary is doing better than at any time in the past half-century,” said Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control Secretary Collin P. O’Mara, “but we still have a way to go.” Population increase, new development, and climate change could increase problems across rivers and tributaries. Read more…
