Sustaining Green Infrastructure through Proper Landscape Management

Training Module 2: Components of Bio-Retention Systems

Maintaining GSI Systems Two

This is the second Module of 5 in the Maintaining Green Infrastructure Stormwater Systems training series, created by the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society, to create a pathway for those interested in pursuing careers in this emerging field.

This session delves more deeply into the traditional or "grey" system for managing stormwater runoff, and looks at the maintenance issues associated with bio-retention basins (often called simply rain gardens).  For a look at the many benefits of "going green", check out the related videos below--and explore the rest of the site for everything you wanted to know about the managing stormewater -- and then some!
